I’m back from Kota Kinabalu!

28 Nov

1) I missed home so badly when I was there because the food there was eerrrkk!

2) 5 days were definitely not enough! To quote ah vun: “五天不够,一百天都不够” and I shall add on with ”一辈子还是不够!”

3) I don’t know when we’ll be meeting again bc the air fares during the x’mas season are so expensive… & I most certainly don’t want to wait till Jan! 😦

4) I miss him like crazy.

5) & I’m addicted to orange juice during the trip… am still drinking right now as I type 🙂

6) The shopping there was errrrk! as well, so no souvenirs and no gifts. I only bought a cute elephant hairband for Tongtong and a pair of Ipanema flip-flops for myself heh heh…

7) I miss ah vun.

8) I’m suffering from withdrawal syndrome without him around me 😦 happens all the time!

9) I only managed to drag my ass and do my translation assignment at 10pm and finishing it 45mins before deadline. Still proud, hehe!

10) I still have other assignments to clear, but right now I just want to talk to ah vun. AH why am I such a lovesick!

11) Will still clear my assignments though!

12) Thanks for reading!!! Off to drink another bottle of orange juice hehe.

I’ve just reached Kota Kinabalu and I hate this place already! Okay, maybe just the airport…

So my flight got delayed, the plane ended up leaving Sg at 615 instead of the originally scheduled 5.45pm, that’s okay because I was in Changi Airport!

& then on the plane everything was okay until the last part when we were preparing for landing, it was stormy and rainy. Have you ever experience lightning on the plane, in the night? Well, it’s scary. And with the turbulence, everyone was so damn terrified.

Still, we make it through 🙂 Perhaps it was nothing to the air crew, but to us, it’s a life-and-death matter.

Then I reached the airport and I realized:

a) Kuching airport, Miri airport and Kota Kinabalu airport all looks the same. The font which says “Miri Airport” or “Terminal One” are in shrek-green, and the architecture are the same!

b) I can’t call out using my phone! My starhub prepaid card is always giving me problems whenever I’m overseas and I dont know why which was irritating enough because my plane landed one hour later then original time and I’m scared that my parents will worry about me.

Never mind, I went to check the Arrivals board and saw Leong’s flight will only reach at 11.30pm!!! Seriously, I was damn pissed off ’cause that stupid guy told me he’ll reach around 10 plus. So when I reached here at 9pm I was still telling myself, ah y’know it’s okay, I’ll just watch a couple episodes of Friends, read some magazine and he’ll be here. ELEVEN THIRTY PEE AM. GOSH I WANNA KILL THIS GUY.

So I did something that I haven’t done for years… using a public phone! Which was hard to use! And rm 50sen runs out so fast. Anyway the 50 sen was used to call that stupid guy and scold him, when I called him he was just on his way to the airport.

>insert grumpy face here<

NOT THAT I CAN’T WAIT YOU KNOW. K lah actually I don’t want to wait. I’m quite sian about the fact that I have to wait for him when arriving already, and also he’d be taking the 9am flight while I’m going to take the 1pm flight on sunday when we leave. Urgh. K lah sorry lah I’m just pekcek.

There! pekcek face. :@

& the airport! Oh mannn, before I arrived I thought I could do some duty-free shopping y’know? But when I reached here, most shops are closed (there isn’t any shop to start with too) and the most appealing shop is the KFC. Which is where I am now, using their wi-fi and complaining about them haha. Yah, and their wi-fi is so slow!

OKAY I DON’T NORMALLY WHINE ALRIGHT. It’s just, today’s not my day and I just want him to come asap and everything’s going to be alright. Still… urgh I’m going to kill him!

Here, there, everywhere.

23 Nov

Gotta bath & pack my suitcase and finish all my e-learning assignments! Damn sian bc I don’t feel like doing it but I have to! A mixture of sadness and happiness for the trip tomorrow, as usual. Sad to leave my family (for a mere 5 days I know), I’m homely like that! Happy to finally able to see someone I’ve ever seen for 2 months!

And one more thing… have you heard about the stampede in Phnom Penh? 😦 It’s so heartwrenching. The minute I heard the news I realized no matter what happens in Cambodia in the future, I will always be concerned. Unlike not being there before, I have friends there and whatever happens there might be happening to someone I know. & I’m so glad they stays in Baray and seldom visits Phnom Penh, hopefully none of them went to the city that night.

🙂

Pa,

I’m so afraid of losing you.

Confessions of a travelholic.

/edited!

I was just doing my research on Kota Kinabalu… a place where I will be touching on in a mere week! & I realized they are known for their magnificent sunset and seafood-filled night markets! Omg, both are my favourites. & their beaches! You have to see their beaches! It’s so pretty… One more week babeh!

And I was wondering how cool it is if I can turn my blog into a travellogue. But although I’m always flying… but it’s always to the same places. Haha, east Malaysia can appoint me as Sarawak/Sabah ambassador already!

Although that’s the case, but I can still blog about those places! Let’s see… Hong kong, Kuching, Cambodia, KL, Malacca and more! It’d still be fun though it’s not those big awesome cities like New York but there will be time for that 🙂

Genting... entered a casino for the first time and we were damn lucky that night 😀

First day in Hong Kong! Slurping on my first ever cup of Hui Lau San and we're hooked!

First time to Miri (Miri City, Sarawak). & many many more times after that.

To take a look at where my lover grew up (Long Lama, Miri) 🙂 & riding a motorbike, best feeling ever!

To Kuching, Sarawak for a transit. Nice place with great food, a pity our stay was too short!

Putrajaya, KL with my family bcus we get to stay at their Marriott at value price!

Baray, Cambodia. Best experience and made the best friends in the 14 days there! Awarded "Country of the Year" by me!

I really like to travel, and I’m so lucky to have found someone who likes travelling as much as I do. And have the same travel habits as me… like choosing a cheaper hotel and spend the money on local food and souvenirs, or preferring to take local transport instead of comfy cabs etc etc. 🙂 It’s soooo important to have someone with the similar travel habits as you do, it will make your trip so much easier and happier.

Once… I was telling this particalar ex that I would very much like to visit India, and he replied with “hey me too!”, you have no idea how happy I was to hear that because you know, it’s India. And then he continued with “I heard there’s an awesome 6-star hotel over there, if I go there, I will just stay in my hotel and never go out.”

What the hell.

Luckily we broke up.

I really like exploring exotic places so I always use them as a gauge for boyfriend material.

A few weeks after we’ve been going out, my dearest Vun popped this question, “hey ask you ah, you want to go Egypt is it?” I was so shocked, because I have never told him before. He then told me that he knew about it because I put Egypt as my country of residence in Friendster (3 years ago okay!). Then I replied, yah I like, it’s number one on my places-to-go-to. Then very subtlely, he replied: “Egypt is also number one on my list too… you know?”

I swear I could hear wedding bells right there and then.

& he really wanted to go to Egypt because of the pyramids, mummies and stuff. Not cus there are some 6-star hotel over there… like the one before him. Yikes.

🙂

Anyway, three years later my list has been altered to:

1) Graceland, Memphis, Tenessee! (My wish is to get married there, in the chapel inside Graceland, awww)

Elvis in front of Graceland, what else is there to add? 😀

2) Bangkok, Thailand (Ya ya as much as I love exploring exotic places, I still have to satisfy the shopaholic in me first!)

Chatuchak!!!

3) Pulau Redang (For the beaches!)

Just look at this!!!

4) New York (To visit the set of “Friends” and their apartment building!)

Where Chandler, Joey, Monica and Rachel lives and the rest of them hang out, Greenwich Village. 🙂

Carrie Bradshaw's apartment 🙂

Being a fan of Friends and SATC, I definitely have to visit NYC. But do you know that Friends actually filmed their entire series in L.A. even though the show took place in New York? However SATC did filmed their series in NYC!

5) Egypt

The pharaohs, the mummies, the pyramids... you know it.

6) India

'Cause that's where my religion begun...

and more…

Places that I want to go back:

1) Hong Kong Hong Kong Hong Kong, been bugging Leong like crazy. I want to go back!!! I’m particularly proud of going to HK bcus I paid everything on my own, hey quite a feat at my age okay!

2) Phnom Penh Phnom Penh Phnom Penh, will definitely go back! Just don’t know when! And also Siem Reap for the Angkor Wat!

angkor wat!

No pictures because I’m using my dad’s laptop. Might edit it when using my own! 😀
